HEADSHOT PORTFOLIO
Boston Headshot Photographer: Business & Acting
Your headshot is your digital handshake. Whether you are a corporate executive looking to upgrade your LinkedIn profile, or an actor needing to catch a casting director’s eye, a professional headshot is the most important investment you can make in your personal brand.
I bring over 18 years of experience to my South End studio, creating a relaxed environment where we capture the best version of you.
Why Professional Headshots Matter
- First Impressions: In the digital age, your headshot is often your first handshake. A selfie or cropped wedding photo doesn't convey the professionalism you deserve.
- For Actors: Casting directors see hundreds of faces daily. We focus on capturing genuine expressions so you don't look "stiff" or "posed," ensuring you look castable.
- For Business: Whether you are in finance, law, or tech, your image defines your personal brand. We ensure the lighting and style match your specific industry standards
Business & Corporate Headshots
Professional Photography can elevate your professional brand for LinkedIn, social media and company websites. It also builds trust and credibility for your brand while showing attention to detail, helping your business stand out from your competitors.
I provide corporate headshot photography that balances professionalism with approachability. We can shoot in my studio, outside, or I can bring the lighting to your office for your entire team.
Acting Headshots
This is the most important business investment for any actor. With an amazing headshot, you will go further than an actor with a so-so or self-taken photo. Casting directors need to see the real you.
As an experienced acting headshot photographer, I focus on capturing range, expression, and character. We’ll ensure your headshot pops on casting sites and leaves a lasting impression.
The Studio Experience
I hate having my picture taken." I hear this almost every day. My goal is to change that. Located at 460 Harrison Ave in Boston, my studio is a professional yet casual space. My approach is simple: we talk. We discuss what the headshot is for, we look at your outfits, and we build a rapport before the camera even clicks. This connection is the secret to a genuine expression that doesn't look "stiff" or "posed."
Common Questions About Headshots
What should I wear for a business headshot?
Business Headshots
A corporate headshot should be a clean, clear image that represents who you are. For business headshots you want to think about your profession and how it is represented. For example, lawyers and finance generally are more dressed up with a suit jacket or a blazer over a solid shirt. If you work in tech, it is more laid back and a button up shirt, blouse or a sweater works great. Solid colors or small print patterns. The general rule, solid colors work best and avoid distracting patterns. Remember you want to be the focus of your headshot and not your clothes. They should enhance but not take away from you.
What should I wear for a acting headshot?
Acting Headshots
As an actor it’s vital that your headshots are professional and representative of your looks, talent, and charisma.
For actors you should bring color. You want your headshot to stand out and solid colors will help you do this. When choosing your clothing choose items that make you look good. Choose flattering colors. Jewel tones work best. You want to avoid white and pastels or anything that washes you out. Lots of agents will also tell you not to wear black.
The general rule, make yourself stand out in your headshot with solid colors.
If you are in doubt with what you should wear for your headshot, bring several items and I am happy to help you with what works best. If you already know what you want to wear that is great to. It is your headshot after all.
How should I prepare for my headshots?
Before your session you should make sure you are drinking plenty of water several days before your shoot to make sure your skin is not dry. Also decide if you would like to have a professional make-up and hair artist or if you would like to do it yourself. We can always book this service for you in advance.
You should also make sure that your clothes have been steamed or ironed prior to your session. Also make sure you allow yourself enough time to get to the session. Stressed and sweaty is not a great way to start your shoot. Better early than late. If we are done with the shoot prior to you, we are happy to take you earlier. But give yourself extra time just in case.
Final thoughts, your headshot represents you, giving people a brief insight on who you are without words. It is also important to keep your headshot up to date. Let’s face it we all change and as we change our headshots should to. We would all love to use a photo from when we were younger, but it is unrealistic. Updating your headshot makes it so people can easily recognize you, in business, in person or on a job. A general rule a headshot should be updated when there is a change in our appearance or every 2 years as we age.
