January 26, 2022Modeling Photoshoot vs Headshots?
March 22, 2022Photoshoot: What to Expect?
You’ve made the call and booked your photoshoot with us, and your session has arrived. You may be excited, nervous or both. Whether you’re an experienced model updating your model portfolio or stepping in front of the lens for the first time, getting professional photos taken can be intimidating. We want you to have a fun and enjoyable experience with us. With that being said, what can you expect at your session with us?
Welcome to the Studio!
Our beautiful Boston studio is located in the historical south end in the SOWA art district. Upon arrival at the studio, you will be greeted and welcomed in. Your time is important to us, so we will get started right away. If your session includes multiple looks, we will start with setting out your outfit choices on our clothing rack. While you get settled in, we will address any questions you may have regarding your photoshoot.
Let’s Get Shooting!
When getting your photos taken with a photographer, you may have concerns. You may question “What if I blink?” If you do blink, those photos will be filtered out in post processing and will not be chosen for your final gallery. Now that your mind is more at ease about the lights, let’s talk about posing! We often hear “I have no idea what I’m doing.” or “I always look so awkward in photos.” Model portfolio sessions will also receive a mini lesson on how to pose in front of the camera, however; It is important that you do research before the photoshoot to get ideas on how to pose during your session. Whether you are building your model portfolio, taking photos for your dating profile or you need updated headshots for your business, our goal is to set you up for success.
While you are Being Photographed
The last thing we want is for you to feel tense and uncomfortable during your photoshoot.
We try to ease the tension by engaging in conversation with you. We will talk about how long have you been in the modeling industry, how long you’ve been in business, or even what your favorite restaurant is. Conversation keeps you relaxed during your photoshoot. When you are relaxed, we are going to capture more natural-looking photos that you are sure to love.
We will guide you throughout your photoshoot to ensure that we capture the best angles that are the most flattering to you. We want you to feel confident while you get your photos taken, so we encourage you to ask questions and to speak up if you are unsure how you are doing. Remember, we are in this together! We are working together to create stunning imagery that reflects and captures your authentic self, which is why communication during your photoshoot is important.
Time flies by when you’re having fun (such is the case when you’re getting your photos taken with us) and before you know it, you’re done!

What Can I Expect After My Photoshoot?
After you photoshoot, you will fill out a small amount of paperwork. After the paperwork is completed and any questions are answered you will pay for your session. You have the option to pay with debit, credit, or cash. If you pay the remainder of your balance in cash on the day of your shoot, you will receive one complementary retouched image of your choice from your gallery. We will email your receipt and you will be on your way!
Your Photoshoot Is Done, So Now What?
Now that all your photos are taken, we will sort through them and find the best one for the final gallery. Depending on how many photos we took, this can take few hours. Once we color correct, crop, and compile the best images, they are put into a private online gallery. You will receive your gallery within 7-10 days after your shoot, and you will have access to your gallery for 120 days in which time you can go through and choose your favorites. Depending on what package you chose, you will be able to download your images from the gallery as well as select which photos you would like retouched.
It is important to note that retouching is not included in every package, but it can be added on for an additional fee of $48 per image.
We take special care when putting together every gallery to ensure that our clients are getting the best product possible. This process takes time, so we ask for patience from you while we put together your gallery.
If you are not sure whether your gallery comes with retouching or not–simply ask or look at the package you selected. We will be more than happy to clarify any questions you may have.
Now that you know what to expect on the day of your photoshoot, let’s have some fun!
